The Game Awards, lễ trao giải thường niên danh giá nhất trong làng game thế giới đã chính thức diễn ra vào ngày hôm nay 9/12. Dưới cái nhìn trông đợi của hàng triệu game thủ trên toàn thế giới, người chiến thắng cho từng hạng mục đã được công bố.

Năm nay, hai ứng cử viên nặng ký nhất cho ngôi vị Game of the Year (Tựa game hay nhất năm) là Elden Ring của nhà phát triển Fromsoftware và God of War: Ragnarok của nhà phát triển Santa Monica Studio.

Kịch bản năm 2018 lại một lần nữa tái diễn khi một trong hai ứng cử viên ăn gần hết các giải phụ, nhưng cuối cùng lại bị lội ngược dòng và để mất ngôi vị GOTY một cách cực kỳ bất ngờ và đáng tiếc.

Năm 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 đã phải ngậm ngùi nhìn God of War đứng lên bục nhận giải. Tuy nhiên trong lần trở lại này, chính đội ngũ của God of War: Ragnarok mới là người phải ôm hận nhìn Elden Ring chiến thắng.
