Thai press: ‘Vietnam wins impressively, Thailand loses poorly’

Thailand media praises Vietnam’s win and expresses their disappointment about Thailand’s loss.

On the fifith matchday of World Cup 2022 qualifiers, Vietnam won 1-0 over UAE while Thailand lost poorly to Malaysia.

‘Changsuek’ led the match but unable to dominated the game and conceded two goals, thereby, left Bukit Jalil stadium empty handed. Right after the match, Akira Nishino criticizes Akira Nishino’s army and praised Vietnam’s outcome.

The Siamsports wrote: "Vietnam had the third consecutive win, after they defeated UAE at home. Park’s defense worked effectively and neutralized UAE’s strikers.”

Thailand also had an impressive start with chanathip opening the scoring for Thailand. However, the poor performance after that cost them a 2-1 loss. A terrible outcome made Thailand lose the top place to Vietnam.

“The loss means Thailand keeps winless streak on Bukit stadium in 15 years. The defeat also affect largely on player’s spirit in the upcoming away match against Vietnam on Nov 19.”

Vietnam is ranked 1st on the table with 10 points  and goal difference 4+. Thailand comes second with 7 points while Malaysia is placed 4th with 6 points.
