In the recent speech, UAE coach Van Marwijk highly rates Vietnam’s offensive line since both teams sit in the same group in World Cup 2022 second qualification.
Regarding group G of World Cup 2022 2nd qualifiers, Van Marwijk highly appreciated Vietnam and Thailand. However, Van proved to be cautious about Vietnam's attack and confident to understand Thailand style.
Speaking on the UAE Football Federation home page, Coach Van Marwijk shared: "The Vietnamese team has shown a high level of attacking in the Asian Cup finals in 2019. They left a special impression in fans' hearts.
Thailand is also strong in the group, but we understand their strengths and weaknesses. The UAE met Thailand in the 2019 Asian Cup group stage, alongside two confrontations in the third World Cup qualifier 2018. The team also met Malaysia in the second qualifier that year".
UAE media also highly appreciated Southeast Asian teams. The National newspaper stated that Vietnam is the biggest rival of UAE, competing for the ticket to the final round.
