The second qualifying draw of the 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup Joint-Qualifiers was held at the AFC House in Malaysia on Wednesday and Vietnam opponents are Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
“Tim Cahill drew successfully the ASEAN group. Vietnam have been flying high since their extraordinary performance at the AFC Asian Cup in January and will be keen to take their better form here. However, the Golden Dragons will have to be wary of the upcoming challenges, as they were drawn in Group G along three of their rivals – Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. At the battle on September 5, Vietnam fights against Thailand as a visiting team before returning to My Dinh stadium to welcome Malaysia on October 10. Five days later, Park Hang-seo will face Indonesia on their home field.
