FAT president was surprised with the news that this country is chasing Park Hang-seo after Sirisak stepped down as head coach.
Thailand is undergoing a tough time after 2 coaches resigned. This time, FAT is rushing to find a replacement yet all the rumored coaches denied.
Earlier, Coach Park Hang-seo will end his contract soon with Vietnam national team and the media rumored Thailand is scouting the South Korean coach.
Faceing the fake news, FAT president Somyot Poompanmoung claimed, “I have never thought of chasing Park Hang-seo. His contract is not expire yet, this could lead to conflicts among ASEAn countries. This is not simple as we also care about our fans’ feeling. There are many experienced coaches applied for the position.
The president stated that this news is for bad intentions or to cause Park distracted and unable to complete his job.
In September, Thailand will enter the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The remaining time is very short and FAT is trying to speed up the process of finding a new coach, even former coach Kiatisak’s rumored to return.
As for Mr. Park, all issues of contract extension will be transferred to representative Lee Dong Jun. He said the process of negotiating a new contract will take place at the end of June.
