Based on statement and plans of Vietnam NT for the King’s Cup 2019 Final, we can predict a formation Park Hang-seo sets to launch to contend for this match where Vietnam NT’s next major challenge is against redoubtable rivals Curacao.
Vietnam NT has gone through an uneasy game against Thailand and won a ‘proper football game’ in the additional time, leading Park’s side straight to the final.
The opponent in the upcoming final, however, is totally a different one with a different quality comparing to Thailand, which means there must have changes in the formation of Vietnam side.
In the pre-match press conference, Park Hang-seo talked about players such as Van Thanh, Anh Duc who are supposed to be left on the bench.
For keeper position, it is likely that Park will open the door to Nguyen Manh who has posted fabulous performances in V-League this year.
Above Nguyen Manh, the defending guard, where it needs stability and perfect combination, might not be the former frame as Tien Dung is emotionally unstable. As a result, Duy Manh-Ngoc Hai-Van Hau may well opt for this place.
For the wide wings, Park needs fleet-footed men to carry out his fast counter-attacks. It seems no one could do better than Hong Duy and Van Kien for this stint.
The midfield is where Mr. Park satisfies the most as it is protected by the couple of Hung Dung and Tuan Anh. Playing against a moving upward formation of Curacao, Tuan Anh can boost his abilities to steal the ball, break pressing and produce such sharp passes. The other one, Hung Dung is still a ‘worker bee’ to match with Tuan Anh to clean up hot spots on the pitch.
A solid slot in Vietnam’s offense will belong to Quang Hai whose role as a free attacking midfielder. Van Toan’s unsuitability will open a door to Cong Phuong in the official line up, his cleverness is well fit against the robust defense of Curacao.
Meanwhile, the one born to play in the highest spot in the offense at this time is Duc Chinh who is so strong at counter-attack and can orient offensive way when the team is without the ball but he needs to improve his finish skills to save every opportunity of the team.
