Thể Thao 247 - Vietnamese-born striker Alexander Dang is most likely not be able to join Vietnam squad to prepare for King’s Cup 2019.

Despite the fact that Park Hang-seo has facilitated Vietnamese players to play abroad, Alexander Dang still faces many difficulties over becoming a Vietnamese citizen.

According to the latest news from this player’s representative, Mr. Mikail Adampour, VFF hasn’t had any official announcement to work with this striker living in Norway.

"We have never received any information or invitation, whether written or spoken from Vietnam. Playing for Vietnamese national team is Alex’s dream. We’ve been always waiting for an invitation from VFF", Zing.vn quoted Mikail.

This, either way, means there is very little chance for Alexander to play for Vietnam NT in King’s Cup in June. He needs time to complete the procedure to get Vietnamese nationality.

Having shared in the official press conference with Vietnamese media before AFC U23 Qualifiers, coach Park Hang-seo welcomed and supported overseas Vietnamese players to play for the national team.

"In order to do that, we need many things. First, we have to complete procedures, then we have a talk to VFF. After that we will need time to assess capacity, qualification, ability to communicate and see if the player is suitable for Vietnamese football, ” said Park.

After Dang Van Lam’s return brought about great success, Alexander Dang is the next talented striker who is receiving much expectation from fans as number one striker Nguyen Anh Duc is no longer on his peak .
