Vietnam coach confident about winning Thailand at AFF Futsal Championship 2019

Vietnam’s coach Miguel Rodrio said he believes his players will defeat major contender Thailand at the upcoming AFF Futsal Championship semi-final.

Vietnam finished second in group B, after Indonesia due to goal difference, which means the Golden Dragons will face defending champs Thailand in the semis.

Vietnam has had a poor head-to-head record against Thailand but coach Rodrio is optimistic about a good outcome.

“Thailand have crowned the championship many times and are still the number one contender this time. It is difficult to defeat them but everything can happen in football,” he said.

“Miracle can happen. Thailand are still the strongest in the region but I have faith in my players,” he added.

Vietnam will play Thailand at 2:00pm. on Friday. Three top teams at the 2019 AFF Futsal Championship will advance to the AFC Futsal Championship 2020.
