Chonburi won heavily 17-0 over Cambodia’s Downtown Sport in the semi-finals leg 2 in AFF Futsal 2019.
By winning the game, Chonburi will meet Vietnam side’s Khanh Hoa FC in the final. The semi-finals leg 1 saw Khanh Hoa Fc triumphed 6-0 over Myanmar Imperial University, yet in the second supporters witnessed an impossible match with 17 goals scored. This is a confirmation from the former champions of Asia and proved their power in asserting their no.1 position.
Cambodia representative Downtown Sport is the dark horse of the tournament by their impressive performance earlier yet facing such a strong team like Chonburi made them accept a heavy thrashing.
The final will be a clash between Vietnam and Thailand. Khanh Hoa once faced Chonburi and was beat 2-8 in the qualifying round without their pillars.
In the rematch in the upcoming final, Khanh Hoa should learn a lesson as Chonburi is a strong and high achievements team in Asia, especially their championships in 2003 and 2007.
While Khanh Hoa’s best achievement is to reach top 4 in AFC futsal cup in 2016.
