Thể Thao 247 - There was such a confusing situation in the match between Binh Phuoc and XSKT Can Tho, when a player from the visiting team scored an own goal.
In national Cup’s first round, when Binh Phuoc, as a visiting team against XSKT Can Tho, focused on competing, suddenly their player “helped” the home team open the score.
In 39’, Binh Phuoc fouled, XSKT Can Tho received a penalty goal. Captain Nguyen Van Quan on the penalty spot outside the penalty area and on the right wing in the home team’s attack direction.
However, this player passed the ball to goalie Minh Nhut, this strong pass, still, looked like an own goal. Van Quan held his face falling down on the pitch, but luckily, the referee didn’t recognize the ball but gave Bich Phuoc a corner kick
In a set-piece, if a player shoot directly back to his team net, the referee, by law, will not recognize the goal and give the opponent a corner kick.
This own goal might not be recognized, but the public, however, could doubt of the honesty in Football, especially after U19 Phu Yen player intended to buy time even his team was led by his opponent.
Whether or not Vietnam Football Federation considers this situation is still under question, yet home supporters would be disappointed with such unexplainable situations like this.
