Thể Thao 247 - Indonesian media considers Cong Phuong’s appearance as a ‘catalyst’ for K-League organizers to change quotas using foreign players in Korea.

Recently, K-League has officially introduced new regulation to increase the number of foreign players in Korean tournaments by raising the rate to 3 non-asian players, 1 Asian player and 1 ASEAN player.

In Indonesia's Bola newspaper hits headline "The opportunity came to Indonesia when the K-League applied ASEAN's foreign quota from 2020 season".

It wrote, "K-League managers said this policy was applied as one of the efforts to expand the image of the tournament to ASEAN in which players are from AFF member countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Brunei, Philippines and East Timor"

Explaining the reason for this decision, "Thanks to the presence of an ASEAN player, a Vietnamese player to be exact . He is the star of Vietnam NT, Nguyen Cong Phuong, he joined Incheon United from February 2019 in the form of a loan from HAGL.

The fact that the player came to the K-League so far has received a positive response from Korean fans to Vietnamese football lovers", Bola newspaper describes the importance of Cong Phuong.

"Indonesia players can spread their wings to find new challenges, cultivate knowledge and professional in K-League clubs thanks to the increase of the ASEAN foreign quota.
