Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh physically strong enough for UAE match

Team Vietnam’s doctor Choi Ju-young told reporters that Cong Phuong and Tuan Anh are physically able play in the Vietnam-UAE match on November 14.

The Vietnamese players landed at Tan Son Nhat airport on October 16 after a successful 3-1 away game against Indonesia.

Asked about the possibility of midfielder Tuan Anh and forward Cong Phuong playing in the UAE match, Doctor Choi said: “Tuan Anh had a twitch after the match against Malaysia on October 10 and was kept on the bench for the Vietnam vs Indonesia match 5 days later."

Cong Phuong suffered a minor injury during the warm-up before  the Indonesia match.

Both Tuan Anh and Cong Phuong are indispensable to the squad, so  having them in the lineup against UAE is good news for Vietnam supporters.

Vietnam now has two wins and one draw, temporarily second in Group G behind Thailand.

In its next two matches, Vietnam will host its two main competitors, UAE (November 14) and Thailand (November 19).

Neither match will be easy for Vietnam despite having a home field advantage.
