Footballer Huy Hung talked to reporters a lot about Thai midfielder Chanathip ahead of a training session on Tuesday afternoon.
Vietnam will take on their arch foe Thailand on Thursday at thet World Cup 2022 qualifiers and all national players are at their best.
“All our players’ health is quite good, except for two with sore eyes, but an eye examination showed they are fine”, said Huy Hung. He missed last June’s King’s Cup matches due to injury but he’s ready this time. He said he is excited before the upcoming fixture.
Vietnam and Thailand are expected to have a fierce midfield encounter , as both possess very strong midfielders. According to Huy Hung, Team Vietnam has a plan to neutralize J-League star Chanathip.
“Thailand is a strong opponent for Vietnam in ASEAN. They have some good midfielders, like Chanathip. We must stay focused to contain him. We all have studied his style thoroughly”.
“I will have to watch closely to block Chanathip because he is smart and dribbles well. He can help Thailand create breakthroughs”.
Huy Hung said Vietnam has practiced special tactics and set scenarios for the upcoming battle.
Huy Hung must compete with Duc Huy, Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong, and Hung Dung for a slot in the midfield.
